Now retired, Roger devotes his full time to profitable handicapping, focusing exclusively on the grand race facilities in California, especially Santa Anita- The Great Race Place. Even at a young age, Roger showed an early proficiency for handicapping horses, poring over the then Morning Telegraph (analogous now to the Daily Racing Form). When he was sixteen, a bit underage, he began frequenting the beautiful Garden State Race Track (1942-May 1, 2001) a quintessential racing facility which ultimately lost its wonderful life due to the influx of casinos at Atlantic City. in business and accounting, with 32 credits in the latter. Lady Tiger Mikayla Morrell was third overall while teammates Taylor Walker (fifth), Emmaline Whitt (seventh) and Ella Anderson (eighth) also finished in the top 10. In Class A competition, Central Magnet's girls finished first and the boys placed second. In the girls race, Christiana's Taylah Upshaw was fourth, Morgan Moore sixth and Arianna Cook seventh, while Buchanan's Emily Bush was eighth. ![]() Stewarts Creek Middle's Naiden Maynard was third overall in the boys race, while Oakland Middle's Jackson McLaury (fifth) and Christiana's Daniel Martin (eighth) also finished in the top 10. The Lady Cougars scored 38 points, which was better than second-place Mt. Juliet Middle won the event with 66 points. The Cougars finished with 111 points, while Mt. Area middle school runners fare wellĬhristiana Middle's girls captured first and the boys second in the AA division of the TMSAA Middle Sectional meet Saturday at Riverdale. Marilyn McCarthy (21:25.85) was 16th overall, while Sarah Wilkerson (22:31.40) was 33rd. Siegel's girls finished sixth (145 points), while Dobyns-Bennett (48) was first.Įlla Phillips (20:15.27) was the top overall finisher for the Lady Stars, coming in seventh. Fernando Bravo (51st, 18:35.60) was the top Bulldogs runner. Chattanooga Christian was second with 110 points. The defending Large Division state champs finished the meet with 32 points. Stars Emilio Vernon and Ben Tickle were 20th and 21st, respectively. Seth Robinson (16:59.00) was third Dylan Benet (16:59.10) was fourth and Tucker Moss (17:03.20) sixth. The Stars had four runners in the top six individually, led by junior Canaan Anderson, who finished first (16:29.50). The Siegel boys cross country team finished first overall at the A.F. ![]()
